Gold exploration advances for Sitka Gold, Thunder Gold, and Miata Metals
Several mining companies have reported significant progress in gold exploration and processing. In Canada, Sitka Gold announced a major drilling success at its Blackjack deposit in the Yukon. A borehole intercepted 141.5 meters of gold at 1.93 g/t, including a high-grade core of 80.6 meters at 3.20 g/t. This discovery suggests potential for high-profit underground mining and indicates that previously separate deposits may merge into a single mineralization corridor.
Thunder Gold also reported positive results from its Tower Mountain project in Canada, recording a 409.5-meter intercept with an average grade of 0.307 g/t. The company noted that the length of the interval is a key factor in evaluating the deposit's potential.
In Suriname, Miata Metals reported high gold recovery rates from its Sela Creek project. Metallurgical tests on samples from the Jons Trend zone showed an average gold recovery of 94.6 percent, with a peak of 98.5 percent. The results suggest the gold is largely free-milling and can be extracted using conventional processing techniques, as the ore contains low sulfide and organic carbon levels.
