Sivas breaks ground on 636 million TL waste management facility

The Sivas Municipality and the Sivas Central and Surrounding Municipalities Solid Waste Management Union (SİVÇEKAB) have officially broken ground on a new Solid Waste Regular Storage Area project. The facility, located at the Seyfebeli Storage Site, is expected to cost 636 million TL.

Sivas Mayor Adem Uzun stated that the project aims to resolve the city's waste management issues for approximately 20 years through a comprehensive process involving recycling, composting, and environmental protection. The project is a collaborative effort between the Sivas Municipality, the Special Provincial Administration, and several surrounding municipalities, including Şarkışla, Ulaş, Yıldızeli, Hafik, Zara, İmranlı, and Doğanşar.

The Sivas Municipality will cover 65% of the costs, with the remaining 35% funded by the Special Provincial Administration and member municipalities. The 88,000-square-meter facility is intended to improve public health and environmental protection by implementing modern waste disposal methods.
