Sivas Municipality breaks ground on 485 million TL solar plant
The Sivas Municipality has broken ground on a 15 megawatt (MW) Solar Energy Plant (GES) located in the Meraküm area. The project represents a total investment of 485 million TL and will be constructed on approximately 230 acres of land, which was acquired for 100 million TL.
The facility is expected to produce electricity valued at approximately 200 million TL annually. This renewable energy initiative aims to significantly offset the municipality's energy expenditures and strengthen its financial structure through self-sufficient energy production.
Sivas Mayor Dr. Adem Uzun attended the groundbreaking ceremony alongside local officials, including Deputy Governor İlhami Doğan and Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zeki Özdemir. During the event, the first poles for the solar panels were installed.
