Siverek, Turkey Destroys 5 Tons of Spoiled Goods
Municipal police (Zabıta) in the Siverek district of Şanlıurfa Province carried out routine inspections and seized roughly five tonnes of expired, unlabeled or improperly stored food items, cleaning products and other goods. The seized items were documented and then destroyed after completing the required legal procedures.
Zabıta Commander Kadir Murat Ölçen said the operation aims to protect public health and noted that the inspections have raised consumer awareness, with residents now checking expiry dates and labels more carefully when purchasing products.
The action reflects ongoing local efforts to enforce safety standards in retail and manufacturing outlets across the district.
