Six suspects charged in Eskilstuna murder and attempted murder case

Six individuals have been charged by Swedish prosecutors for involvement in a double‑shooting in Eskilstuna. On 30 August 2024 a 35‑year‑old man was shot dead in Årby, and the following day a 19‑year‑old was shot in the arm in Lagersberg but survived. The indictment includes two men in their 50s for murder and attempted murder, a 26‑year‑old man for incitement, a 30‑year‑old man for aiding and attempting to aid the murders, and two women in their 30s for aggravated assistance to offenders. Prosecutors say the shooters acted on a “crime‑as‑a‑service” contract and had no connection to the victims; the women are accused of helping one shooter flee Sweden. No motive has been established.
