Skepta announces new album ‘The Fork and Knife’ for November release

UK rapper Skepta has announced the release of his new studio album, ‘The Fork and Knife’, scheduled for November 6 via Big Smoke/Epic Records. This marks his first solo full-length project in seven years.

The album is described as a blend of conscious themes and high-energy music, drawing on genres such as grime, garage, jungle, and electronic music. Skepta noted that the project explores identity, diaspora, immigration, and patriarchy, taking visual and thematic inspiration from 1980s Nigerian-British imagery and Windrush history.

In a message to fans, Skepta explained the lengthy hiatus, stating he wanted to avoid the trend of creating ‘meaningless content’ for algorithms. He expressed a desire to ‘dig deeper’ and ‘look inward’ to provide more honest and liberating art.
