Skepta announces new album with single ‘Innocent Smile’

British grime artist Skepta has launched the rollout for his upcoming album, ‘The Fork and Knife’, with the release of the new single ‘Innocent Smile’. This marks his first studio album in over seven years, following 2019’s ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’.

The single features collaborations with Chase & Status and Suggs, the vocalist from the band Madness. The track blends rap with electronic club music, incorporating elements of UK garage, house, jungle, and rave. Skepta noted that the song began as a ska record before being reworked with breakbeats.

A music video directed by Aidan Zamiri accompanies the release. Filmed in London, the visual utilizes cinematic storytelling and references British pop culture from the early 2000s. The project is released via Epic Records.
