Skia Thos: Passenger ship collides with sea taxi at port

The passenger ship ‘Nisos Aegina’ collided with a sea taxi named ‘Mitera Panagia’ while attempting to dock at the port of Skia Thos. The vessel had departed from Mandoudi with Skopelos as its destination.

The sea taxi was moored at the port without passengers at the time of the collision. According to the Coast Guard, the ‘Nisos Aegina’ was carrying 68 passengers, 17 crew members, and 6 children. No injuries or maritime pollution were reported following the incident.

Both vessels are currently under a departure ban imposed by the port authority. The ‘Nisos Aegina’ remains immobilized at the Skia Thos port, awaiting approval from a marine surveyor before it can resume its route.
