Skoda launches low‑cost Epiq electric SUV and previews premium Peaq family SUV

Czech automaker Skoda is expanding its electric‑vehicle lineup with two contrasting models. The compact Epiq, unveiled in May 2026, is positioned as Skoda’s most affordable electric SUV. Built on the Volkswagen Group MEB+ platform, it offers a length of about 4.1 m, five seats, a cargo space of 475 L and battery options of 38.5 kWh or 55 kWh, delivering a WLTP range up to 440 km and fast‑charging from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 24 minutes. Pricing is expected to be around $30,000 (≈₹15‑20 lakh) and, while an official Indian launch date has not been confirmed, industry reports suggest a possible market entry in 2027.

At the opposite end of the spectrum Skoda is preparing the Peaq, a large family SUV that will also be offered with a seven‑seat configuration. Drawing on the same MEB architecture, the Peaq is expected to be longer than 5 m, potentially equipped with a larger 89 kWh battery similar to the VW ID. Buzz, and will become the most expensive Skoda model to date. Its design echoes the Vision 7S concept, with a minimalist exterior and a focus on premium positioning. The Peaq is slated for a near‑future unveiling.

Both models follow Skoda’s recent successes with the Enyaq and the Elroq, reinforcing the brand’s strategy to cover both the affordable EV segment and a premium SUV tier.
