Skoda evaluates future of Superb and Octavia models

Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer has indicated that the company is evaluating its long-term model lineup, which could potentially lead to the discontinuation of the Superb or a significant restructuring of the Octavia. This review is driven by shifting consumer preferences away from sedans, limousines, and station wagons, as well as a broader rationalization program within the Volkswagen Group aimed at halving the number of models offered by its brands by 2035.

Skoda is investigating whether a single model could cover the segments currently occupied by both the Octavia and the Superb. The recently unveiled Vision O electric concept car, which sits between the dimensions of the two models, may play a central role in this transition. While the Superb has been a highly successful model with over 1.6 million units sold since 2001, the company is looking toward future platforms, such as the VW Group's new SSP platform, to streamline its portfolio.

In the immediate market, specific 2025 Skoda Superb Kombi models are seeing significant price reductions in certain regions, with some dealer offers showing discounts of over 53,000 PLN to clear remaining inventory.
