Overview
Skoda has reported significant sales growth in 2026, with a 9.1% increase in total vehicle sales driven largely by a 48% rise in electric vehicle demand. This transition involves a potential restructuring of the brand’s model lineup. Due to shifting consumer preferences away from traditional sedans and station wagons, CEO Klaus Zellmer has indicated that the company is evaluating the long-term future of the Octavia and Superb models. The company is investigating whether a single model could eventually cover the segments currently occupied by both, potentially utilizing the Vision O concept to bridge the gap.
As part of a broader Volkswagen Group program to halve the number of models offered by its brands by 2035, Skoda may phase out the Superb in favor of models derived from new platforms. In the short term, some regions have seen significant price reductions on existing Superb Kombi inventory to clear stock.
