Skoda Peaq electric SUV unveiled, to serve as Tour de France director's car

Czech automaker Skoda presented the Peaq, its largest electric SUV to date. The 4.87‑metre‑long vehicle can seat up to seven passengers, offers a claimed 640 km range on a single charge and provides a maximum 935 litre boot volume in the five‑seat configuration. Built on an evolution of Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Peaq features a 13.6‑inch vertical touchscreen and a range of practical storage solutions.

Skoda announced that the newly launched Peaq will act as the "Voiture Rouge" for the director of the 2026 Tour de France, Christian Prudhomme, on twelve of the race’s twenty‑one stages. The partnership extends Skoda’s long‑standing involvement with the event, now confirmed through 2028, during which the brand supplies about 250 electrified vehicles—including the Enyaq, Superb iV hybrid and the upcoming Epiq compact SUV—to the organisation. The Tour begins on 4 July in Barcelona, Spain, and the Peaq will provide the director with a spacious, fully electric "moving office" equipped with a red gyrophare, radio antennas and race flags.
