Skoda sees rapid Kodiaq RS sales in India and unveils Peaq, its largest electric SUV

Skoda’s performance SUV Kodiaq RS sparked a buying frenzy in India, with all 50 units offered through an online reservation system snapped up within six minutes after the sale opened on June 22. Customers paid a deposit of about 300,000 rupees, and while the final price has not been disclosed, estimates put it near 6 million rupees (≈ US$63,000). The model features a 2.0‑litre TSI engine delivering 261 hp and 400 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and equipped with all‑wheel drive.

At the same time, Skoda launched the Peaq, its largest electric SUV, offering three rows of seating and a WLTP‑rated range of up to 647 km on the 91 kWh battery variant. The vehicle supports fast charging of up to 200 kW, can tow up to 2 tonnes, and introduces new design cues such as hidden door handles and T‑shaped LED lighting. Built on Volkswagen’s MEB+ platform, the Peaq is available with 63 kWh or 91 kWh battery packs, a 13.6‑inch vertical infotainment screen, and a suite of driver‑assist systems. It targets families needing spacious, high‑tech electric mobility.
