Skopje creates motorbike park in Vodno from storm‑fallen trees

The city of Skopje is turning the aftermath of recent heavy storms into a new community asset. Healthy trunks from trees that fell during the storm are being repurposed to build a motorbike park on Vodno, featuring natural obstacles and equipment designed to improve balance, coordination, agility, precision and overall physical fitness. The park will be open to children, youth and adults for recreation, exercise and socialising.

At the same time, the cleared sites are being replanted with new saplings, and a large autumn reforestation campaign is scheduled to start in the second half of September. The initiative is part of broader work to restore and upgrade Vodno, including the renovation of footpaths, urban facilities and the operation of a mountain‑rescue service on Vodno and Matka. Mayor Orce Gjorgievski emphasized that the project turns waste into value for all generations of citizens.
