Skopje doctors report rise in infectious mononucleosis among adolescents
Medical professionals in Skopje are reporting an increase in infectious mononucleosis cases among adolescents. Doctors note that the virus is spreading rapidly, potentially facilitated by social behaviors such as hugging and kissing among young people.
Common symptoms include high fever, sore throat, and extreme fatigue. In certain instances, the infection can lead to serious complications, including liver issues. In addition to mononucleosis, healthcare providers are also seeing cases of streptococcal angina and seasonal flu symptoms among individuals returning from summer holidays.
