Youth initiatives and regional forums held in North Macedonia and Bosnia
Various youth-focused initiatives and events are taking place across the Balkan region. In Prilep, North Macedonia, approximately 40 students from vocational schools presented 20 business innovation ideas at the ‘Pitch Scene Prilep’ event. Organized by the NGO ‘Genveib’ and the Prilep Regional Chamber, the initiative aims to foster entrepreneurship by connecting young innovators with the local business community.
In Skopje, the Red Cross of the City of Skopje hosted the 32nd National First Aid Competition under the theme ‘First Aid in an Urban Environment’. Ten top youth teams competed in realistic urban scenarios to demonstrate their emergency response skills. The event aims to promote widespread first aid preparedness among citizens by 2030.
Additionally, a regional political forum titled ‘Data Availability, Youth Participation and Democratic Accountability in the WB6 and Turkey’ was held in Kruševo, North Macedonia. The forum brought together representatives from the Western Balkans and Turkey to discuss the necessity of high-quality, accessible data to create effective public policies for young people.
