Skopje hosts ‘European Dialogues’ forum and art exhibition

The international forum ‘European Dialogues: Heritage and European Future’ has launched in Skopje with the opening of the exhibition ‘Solidarity as Future’ at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Organized by the French Institute in Paris, the French Institute in Skopje, and the French Embassy in North Macedonia, the four-day event runs from September 29 to October 2.

The exhibition highlights the historical international cultural solidarity shown to Skopje following the catastrophic 1963 earthquake, when artists from France and other European nations donated works to the city. The collection features pieces by prominent French, Macedonian, and European artists, including Pierre Soulages, Victor Vasarely, and Nikola Martinoski.

As part of the ‘Shared Horizons’ program, the forum includes public debates, lectures, workshops, and cultural meetings involving researchers, diplomats, activists, and artists. The discussions focus on collective European memory, civil society, and the challenges facing the European Union.
