Skopje police seize grenade, pistols, and ammunition in investigation

The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje has launched an investigation against a 33-year-old man following a police search of his home. Authorities seized a significant cache of illegal items, including an M75 hand grenade equipped with metal pellets for shrapnel effect, two pistols (a Zastava 7.65 mm and a Beretta), and 240 rounds of ammunition in various calibers.

In addition to the weapons, police recovered approximately 7 grams of marijuana. Notably, investigators found a motorcycle key that is believed to be linked to the commission of a murder.

The suspect faces charges related to the unauthorized manufacture, possession, mediation, and trade of weapons or explosive materials, as well as the unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The prosecutor has requested the court to order detention, citing the risk of the suspect fleeing or continuing to commit criminal acts.
