Skopje's Boris Trajkovski Boulevard Near Completion After 30‑Year Delay

Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski announced that construction of the Boris Trajkovski boulevard in the Kisela Voda municipality is 88 % finished and is expected to be fully opened before the end of the year, potentially earlier. The one‑kilometre stretch will serve the neighborhoods of Dračevë, Zelenikovo and Studeničani, benefiting roughly 100,000 residents.

The project, costing about €2 million, includes a new atmospheric drainage system, four traffic lanes, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and a three‑layer asphalt surfacing that will extend two kilometres to the Pintija round‑about. Parallel works are underway at the Momin Potok junction and on the Lublanska bridge. The mayor also noted improvements in waste‑collection capacity, with the city now operating around 60 trucks and expecting an additional 40 after the tender process, and a pending delivery of 2,600 waste containers.

All ownership‑and‑legal issues that stalled the boulevard for three decades have now been resolved, allowing the city to move forward with the final construction phases.
