Skyeton unveils Stormbird precision strike drone
Skyeton has unveiled Stormbird, a fixed-wing tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) designed for both autonomous and remotely guided precision strike missions. The drone has already completed codification with Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence and is currently being used in combat by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Built upon the architecture of Skyeton’s existing Raybird reconnaissance system, Stormbird is designed to carry various payloads, including Remora glide munitions, Quadremora FPV-type loitering munitions, or a Retranslator communications relay module to extend signal range. The company noted that the design leverages over 350,000 hours of operational flight experience gained in Ukraine to improve endurance, stealth, and resistance to electronic warfare.
Skyeton CEO Roman Knyazhenko stated that the company aims to create a comprehensive ecosystem of small fixed-wing UAS capable of intelligence, detection, target acquisition, and precision strikes in environments where larger aircraft or UAVs cannot operate. Stormbird and Raybird are designed to work together using similar ground infrastructure and minimal crew requirements.
