Slangenhoutstraat sewerage rehabilitation addresses infrastructure vulnerabilities
Infrastructure rehabilitation is underway in the Slangenhoutstraat area to address drainage and sewerage vulnerabilities. As part of the larger Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat rehabilitation project, which began in late August and is expected to last twenty months, Kuldipsingh Infra N. V. is replacing outdated sewerage components.
Project manager Rodney Wongsosoeparto stated that workers are removing existing culverts under the Slangenhoutstraat and Calcuttastraat to replace them with new structures. The project involves at least eight different locations across the Slangenhoutstraat and Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat to ensure a cohesive drainage system.
Due to these works, the section of Slangenhoutstraat between Van ’t Hogerhuysstraat and Hernhutterstraat has been partially closed to traffic, with completion for this specific segment scheduled for October 22.
