Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande discusses new album and band dynamics

Slipknot drummer Eloy Casagrande has revealed that the band is currently in the studio recording a large number of songs for their upcoming album. In a recent interview with the Colombian YouTube channel Radiónica, Casagrande described the creative process as "natural" and "easygoing," emphasizing that the band is focused on making "real music" rather than prioritizing business interests or commercial appeal.

Casagrande, who joined the band in 2024, noted that the group is not looking for him to replicate the style of former drummers like Joey Jordison. Instead, band members, including percussionist Shawn 'Clown' Crahan, have encouraged him to bring his own personality, energy, and new ideas to the group to keep the "soul of the band" alive.

While Casagrande initially faced questions regarding the integration of his Brazilian musical roots into the band's metal sound, he noted that the approach has evolved. He mentioned that Clown has since suggested incorporating Brazilian rhythms into the new recordings, allowing Casagrande to maintain his musical DNA while evolving within the Slipknot framework.
