Slovak business initiatives target expansion in Ukraine and C8 regions
Slovak business entities are being encouraged to expand their international presence through new strategic initiatives and partnerships. The Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) has announced a business mission to Ukraine, scheduled for September 18–20, 2026, in Bukovel. This mission is part of the Carpathian Integration Initiative, which aims to connect businesses, investors, and institutions from the C8 group: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
The initiative focuses on sectors including energy, transport, logistics, construction, agriculture, and information technology. It will feature the Carpathian Economic Forum and the Carpathian Business Fair to facilitate B2B and B2G negotiations.
In a separate effort to support exports, Eximbanka is deepening its cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The goal is to better align the development needs of partner regions—specifically Ukraine, the Western Balkans, and Central Asia—with the technological expertise and export capacities of Slovak companies. This collaboration seeks to leverage UNDP’s local expertise and Eximbanka’s financing and insurance tools to facilitate large-scale development projects.
