Slovak Health Authority Recalls Defective Chinese Wok Pan Amid EU Food Safety Alerts

The Public Health Authority of the Slovak Republic warned consumers to stop using and return a Chinese‑made 28 cm wok pan (brand “Wok Pan Natural Kitchen”). Tests showed the inner coating peeled off after the first use, leaving fragments in food and posing a contamination risk. The pan was sold in Tedi stores across several states, including Slovakia, from 9 January to 17 July. The warning was issued through the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) after a consumer complaint and laboratory confirmation.

In the same week, the EU RASFF bulletin for week 29 of 2026 listed a series of alerts from member states involving contaminants such as 3‑MCPD, Salmonella, Listeria, pesticide residues, and undeclared allergens in a variety of foods originating from Germany, Italy, the United States, and other countries. The weekly report underscores ongoing monitoring and rapid response to food safety risks across the EU.
