Central Europe recall of defective Chinese wok pan
Overview
In late July 2026, Slovakia’s Public Health Authority issued a warning after laboratory tests showed that a Chinese‑made 28 cm “Wok Pan Natural Kitchen” sold in TEDi stores shed its non‑stick coating, contaminating food. The recall covered pans sold from early January through mid‑July and was communicated through the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF).
A week later, Hungary’s National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority announced its own recall of the same model, noting the same coating‑detachment hazard. The Hungarian notice emphasized cooperation with TEDi to remove the pans from shelves, collect them from consumers and provide refunds or replacements. Both alerts highlight coordinated consumer‑protection actions across Central Europe in response to the defective product.
