Slovak police detain drug‑impaired driver with driving ban after night chase in Košice

Police in Košice arrested a 29‑year‑old driver who ignored police signals, increased speed and attempted to flee during a night patrol on 7 July. The vehicle, bearing altered Polish licence plates, was stopped on Bratislavská Street after a pursuit through the Sídlisko KVP district.

Investigators confirmed the driver was prohibited from driving, had his licence seized and tested positive for drugs. He has a history of property‑related offences. The driver was placed in police custody pending further inquiry into possible involvement of his passengers in criminal activity.
