Slovak Railway introduces cultural carriage and family train patrol events
Slovak Railway (ZSSK) added a cultural carriage to its regular Ex Tatran service on Saturday, running between Košice and Bratislava. The carriage offers a theatre performance, a vegetable‑puppet workshop and a dessert tasting that reflects the flavours of Trenčín, the European Capital of Culture 2026. ZSSK described the service as "Kultúrny expres nie je mimoriadne vypravený vlak. Ide o spoločenský vozeň zaradený do pravidelných diaľkových spojov".
On the same day, ZSSK's "Train Patrol" heroes – representing a driver, a train leader, a sales specialist and a mechanic – met children at Ružomberok’s Zápalkáreň station. The event featured the historic Korýtko steam train, photo opportunities and interactive displays that introduced young visitors to railway occupations as part of a series of summer family activities across Slovakia.
