Slovak String Quartet Performs at Ohrid Summer Festival in Macedonia

A Slovak string quartet from the State Chamber Orchestra “Zhilina” performed at St. Sophia church in Ohrid on 20 h as part of the Slovak evening of the Ohrid Summer festival. The ensemble, founded in 2024, comprised first violinist Robert Kopelman, second violinist Katerina Mironova, violinist Alexander Dijagilev and cellist Darya Zemskaya. Their program featured Mozart’s String Quartet No. 15 and works by Slovak composers Jan Levov Bela, Ilja Zeljanka and Eugen Suchon.

Slovak Republic Ambassador to North Macedonia, Iveta Hricova, said the concert was not only an artistic experience but also the start of closer cooperation between the two countries. The event highlighted cultural ties and the high artistic quality of the newly‑established chamber ensemble.
