Slovakia adds family homes in Ilava and state‑backed rentals in Žiar

In Ilava, developer Mestský developer (Mestský developer) revised the Obytný súbor Zábreh project, replacing most planned apartment blocks with 45 detached family houses alongside three apartment buildings. The first apartment block (BD01) was completed in 2024, offering 1‑ to 4‑room flats for roughly 458 residents. A second block (BD02) has a building permit and is slated to start construction in 2027, while a row‑type building remains in the design phase. The updated plan includes community facilities such as a playground, green spaces and a one‑way central street.

In Žiar nad Hronom, the state‑supported rental housing program broke ground on a new seven‑storey building that will contain 78 fully equipped rental apartments and 99 parking spaces. The €480‑monthly two‑room unit is intended for low‑ to middle‑income families, with tenants eligible to purchase the unit after 25 years. Completion is expected within three years. The project is part of a nationwide effort to create affordable rental housing, with more than 12 800 applicants already registered and further sites planned for Nitra, Žilina, Košice and Bratislava.
