Bratislava-Vienna rail services disrupted by power line failure
Rail services between Bratislava and Vienna are facing significant disruptions due to a power line failure on the Austrian Ostbahn network. The issue is concentrated on the section between Gramatneusiedl and Bruck an der Leitha.
Austrian Railways (ÖBB) has implemented replacement bus services for regional connections, with repairs expected to last until Wednesday. While regional Rex 6 trains from Bratislava Petržalka are heavily affected, long-distance Railjet and RegioJet services between Vienna and Budapest are expected to operate according to schedule, making special stops at Bruck an der Leitha and Gramatneusiedl to maintain connectivity.
In an effort to mitigate the impact, passengers traveling between Vienna and Hegyeshalom may use their tickets on RegioJet trains.
