Slovakia election poll: Progresívne Slovensko leads with 21.6 percent

A recent NMS Market Research Slovakia poll indicates that if parliamentary elections were held in early September, Progresívne Slovensko (PS) would emerge as the winner with 21.6 percent of the vote. This represents an increased lead over Smer-SD, which holds 16.2 percent support.

The non-parliamentary movement Republika has seen a significant rise, reaching 15.6 percent and closely approaching Smer-SD. Other parties in the ranking include Hnutie Slovensko at 9 percent, SaS at 6.8 percent, Hlas-SD at 6.4 percent, and KDH at 5.8 percent.

Several parties remain below the 5 percent threshold required to enter parliament, including Demokrati (4.8 percent), Maďarská aliancia (3.1 percent), Sme rodina (3 percent), and Právo na pravdu (2.1 percent). The poll, conducted between September 2 and September 7, 2026, based on a sample of 1,004 respondents, suggests a projected seat distribution in the National Council where PS would hold 40 seats, Smer-SD 30, and Republika 29.
