Slovakia embraces DIY summer health tips
During hot summer days Slovak residents are turning to simple home‑made solutions to stay hydrated and improve sleep quality. One popular beverage, dubbed the “cortisol cocktail,” combines orange juice, a pinch of salt and coconut water to replenish lost fluids, sodium and potassium. Health experts note it is not a miracle cure but can help replace electrolytes after heat exposure or exercise.
At the same time, doctors advise that sleeping with an open window can enhance air circulation and lower bedroom temperature, which may support deeper sleep. However, they caution that noise, air‑pollution, pollen, or security concerns can offset these benefits. Recommended indoor temperatures are 16‑19 °C, and proper ventilation before bedtime is suggested when conditions are favorable.
