Slovakia investigates COVID-19 mobile testing site fraud

The Bureau of Combating Organized Crime (ÚBOK) of the Police Presidium has brought charges regarding the fraudulent disbursement of funds intended for the operation of mobile testing sites (MOM) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Publicist Juraj Hrabko commented on the investigation, stating that it is positive for law enforcement to scrutinize the pandemic period regardless of the eventual outcome. He noted that while the period was difficult, authorities should analyze these events to implement measures that prevent similar errors and improve state response capabilities in future crises.
