Slovakia allocates €186 million for Obnov dom mini+ home‑renovation subsidies

The Slovak government has launched a new round of the Obnov dom mini+ renovation programme, allocating €186 million from the Modernisation Fund. Households that own a family house built before 2016 can apply for up to €11,000 to fund energy‑efficiency measures such as insulation, window replacement, roof renewal, modern boilers, heat pumps or solar collectors.

Eligibility is limited to families in energy poverty whose 2024 disposable income does not exceed €12,990 per person (or lower thresholds for retirees, those in material need and families with four or more children, who are exempt from income verification). Applications open on 15 July, with an initial capacity of 5,000 requests and a deadline at the end of August. The programme removes the requirement for an energy certificate and allows an advance payment before works begin, aiming to help more than 16,900 households reduce energy bills and lower overall consumption.
