Slovakia launches Europe's first 1.2 MW ultra-fast charging station
The charging network operator ejoin GO has launched Slovakia’s first public ultra-fast charging station with a power output of up to 1.2 MW (1,200 kW) and a maximum current of 1,200 A. Located at the Zlaté Piesky – Východ highway rest area, the station set a European record during a demonstration involving a Denza Z9 GT, which achieved a peak charging power of 1,044 kW.
During the test, the Denza Z9 GT reached a 50% state of charge in just 3 minutes. The vehicle completed a full charge from 14% to 100% in 11 minutes and 40 seconds. The station utilizes liquid-cooled cables to manage the extreme power levels and employs a Rapid Tower configuration to supply power to multiple terminals.
ejoin GO plans to expand this high-performance infrastructure across Slovakia, with stations offering between 480 kW and 1 MW planned for 11 different highway rest areas.
