Slovakia political landscape shifts toward election campaign mode

Slovak politics is entering a campaign phase ahead of upcoming municipal and regional elections. The opposition, including Progressive Slovakia, is currently struggling with low voter support, mirroring levels seen in late 2023. Analysts note that Fico’s fourth administration is characterized by perceived personnel weaknesses in key ministries, such as finance, justice, and foreign affairs, alongside economic consolidation efforts that have struggled to reduce national debt.
