Slovakia political poll shows Progressive Slovakia leading Smer
A recent Focus agency poll conducted between October 12 and 19 shows Progressive Slovakia (PS) narrowly leading Smer with 17.4 percent of voter preference, compared to Smer's 17 percent. This represents a slight shift from September, when both parties were tied at 17.3 percent.
Other notable shifts include a decline for SaS, which dropped to 6.3 percent, and growth for Hnutie Slovensko (9.7 percent) and Demokrati (5.8 percent). Republika remains in third place with 11.3 percent support.
According to the data, the current governing coalition parties would not be able to form a parliamentary majority. While Smer and Hlas-SD combined would hold 46 seats, even adding Republika would only reach 67 seats, falling short of the 76 required. An opposition coalition consisting of Progressive Slovakia, SaS, KDH, and Demokrati would reach 65 seats, requiring Hnutie Slovensko to achieve a majority of 83 seats.
