Slovakia STVR programs to transition to DVB-T2 standard

On September 22, 2026, the third television multiplex featuring STVR programs in Slovakia will transition to the DVB-T2 broadcasting standard. This change affects all households receiving free-to-air television via an antenna across the country.

While the antenna itself does not need to be replaced, viewers must re-scan their television or set-top box settings to continue receiving channels such as Jednotka, Dvojka, :24, and :Šport. It is recommended to perform the re-scanning in the afternoon once the multiplex transition is complete. If automatic scanning fails, manual tuning may be required. Viewers using cable, satellite, or internet-based television are not affected by this specific change.

Users can verify if their equipment is compatible with DVB-T2 by checking if they can currently receive other DVB-T2 stations, such as TV LUX HD. If a receiver does not support the DVB-T2 standard, it will need to be replaced.
