Slovakia’s electric‑vehicle fleet tops 33,000 as charging network expands

By the end of June 2026 Slovakia had 33,379 battery‑electric vehicles on its roads, a 65 % increase compared with the same period a year earlier. The market added an average of 37 new BEVs each day, and the number of high‑power public chargers grew with several ultra‑fast hubs launching along TEN‑T corridors under the Recovery Plan.

In the same half‑year, the import of used cars rose to 30,958 units, a 3.7 % year‑on‑year gain. The strongest growth was seen in vehicles up to two years old, whose imports jumped 74 %. Imports of electric used cars more than doubled, surpassing 4,000 units. Prices of imported cars shifted upward, with larger shares in the €30‑40k and above brackets, while mileage profiles improved – cars with under 50,000 km nearly doubled, and high‑kilometre imports fell sharply.
