Slovenia braces for thunderstorms and heightened fire danger

A changing weather pattern will bring increasing cloud cover and scattered showers across western and central Slovenia on Sunday, while eastern parts remain mostly sunny. Temperatures are expected to reach 22 °C to 28 °C during the day, with morning lows between 12 °C and 17 °C and coastal areas around 19 °C. A south‑west wind will continue to blow.

Localised thunderstorms and heavy rain are forecast for the western and central regions, and fire‑danger warnings remain in effect along the coast. Residents and visitors are urged to handle open flames with care. The next day, Monday, will be largely sunny with only brief showers possible inland, followed by a return to stable, sunny weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. Similar weather instability is expected in neighboring Friuli‑Venezia Giulia in Italy and the Istria region of Croatia.

Authorities advise checking the forecast before heading out for outdoor activities, especially in mountainous or coastal areas where sudden showers and strong winds can develop.
