Slovenia distributes 26,000 pieces of digital equipment to schools

The Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Youth has completed a project to provide over 26,000 pieces of digital and specialized equipment to more than 1,000 educational institutions across the country. The investment, valued at 18.5 million euros, includes laptops, virtual reality equipment, robotic arms, and other modern teaching aids for primary, secondary, and adult education centers.

Funded through the European Union’s NextGenerationEU recovery and resilience plan, the broader digital transformation of education in Slovenia has a total budget of nearly 39 million euros, with over 32 million euros coming from EU funds.

State Secretary Mojca Škrinjar emphasized that the goal of the project was not merely the acquisition of technology, but rather ensuring that the equipment meets the specific needs of educational institutions to foster creativity, collaboration, research, and critical thinking among students and educators.
