Slovenia hosts European Cycling Championships elite road race
The European Cycling Championships are taking place in Slovenia, with the elite men's road race serving as a major highlight. The race will start in Ljubljana and conclude in Šenčur, covering a 196.3-kilometer course that includes five climbs up Možjanca.
Slovenian cyclist Primož Roglič leads a national team that includes Matej Mohorič, Jakob Omrzel, Matevž Govekar, Jan Tratnik, Luka Mezgec, Gal Glivar, and Domen Novak. They will compete against a strong field, including Belgian rider Remco Evenepoel. The event features 899 cyclists representing 43 different nations.
Fan zones and festivities are organized in Šenčur and at Možjanca to accommodate spectators. The championships will continue through October 7, featuring a total of 14 races across various categories.
