Slovenian athletes compete at European Athletics Championships
At the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, Slovenian pole vaulter Tina Šutej failed to qualify for the final. After three unsuccessful attempts at 4.50 meters, she finished in 13th place, missing the final by a significant margin compared to her personal best. Šutej attributed her performance to a lack of coordination between her central nervous system and physical execution, stating, “Everything went wrong from the start.”
In contrast, Slovenian discus thrower Kristjan Čeh secured his place in the final with a strong qualifying performance. Čeh reached the automatic qualifying mark of 66 meters on his very first attempt, recording a throw of 67.52 meters to advance in the competition.
