Slovenian court upholds RTV Slovenija music production funding

The Administrative Court of Slovenia has granted a request by RTV Slovenija regarding the financing of music production, temporarily suspending a supplementary decision issued by the current Ministry of Culture.

As a result of the court's ruling, a previous decision from June 3 by former Minister of Culture Asta Vrečko remains in effect. This original decision approved approximately 3.5 million euros from the state budget for RTV Slovenija's music production activities.

Uršula Menih Dokl, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, expressed concern that the court's decision does not protect the interests of taxpayers. She noted that the suspension leaves the ministry without a legal basis to sign a contract that includes necessary public finance safeguards. Meanwhile, RTV Slovenija board member Luka Rupnik stated that the decision is not yet final and noted that the broadcaster has not yet received the funds, prompting their legal action.
