Zagreb driver detained and Audi seized after driving without a licence

On 6 July 2026, Zagreb police stopped a 34‑year‑old man who was driving an Audi with Slovak plates on Kanalski put. The driver had never passed a driving test, lacked a licence, did not wear a seat‑belt and carried no personal ID. He refused a drug test and a subsequent medical examination.

Police arrested him, placed him in custody and requested a court‑ordered 60‑day jail term, a three‑month ban on driving a B‑category vehicle and the permanent confiscation of the Audi in favour of the Republic of Croatia. A court ordered a detention of up to 15 days pending trial and the vehicle was taken to a prison facility in Zagreb.
