Slovenian Outdoor Summer Film Series Draws Crowds in Maribor and Izola

The Maribor Maribox outdoor cinema will run a summer programme featuring high‑profile releases such as Christopher Nolan’s "Odyssey" starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland (premiering 16 July) and a new "Spider‑Man" adventure. The schedule also includes family‑friendly animated titles and special events through August.

In the coastal town of Izola, the Arrigoni open‑air cinema, organized by the Centre for Culture, Sport and Events, will showcase a curated selection of classic and anniversary films. Highlights include Stanley Kubrick’s "A Clockwork Orange" on its 55th anniversary, Martin Scorsese’s "Taxi Driver", Danny Boyle’s "Trainspotting", and a documentary on Bosnian director Jasmila Žbanić. Additional screenings feature works by Franc Basaglia, Hirokazu Kore‑eda and other European filmmakers, with free showings running until late August.
