Slovenian Police Log 26 Traffic Accidents and Multiple Crimes in 24 Hours

Police units in the Maribor region handled 26 traffic accidents within a single day, two of which resulted in serious injuries. In Korena, a driver was cited for excessive speed, while in Ptuj a car failed to yield to an electric scooter, causing severe injuries to the scooter rider. Authorities seized a vehicle for repeated traffic violations and will file criminal charges against the drivers responsible for the serious crashes.

In the Novo Mesto area, police responded to four minor traffic collisions, an e‑scooter fall involving a driver with a blood‑alcohol level of about 2.1 ‰, and the seizure of an illegally modified moped. The force also investigated a range of criminal matters, including family‑related violence, theft, and public‑order violations, arresting several suspects and confiscating weapons and cannabis plants.
