Slovenian political controversies involve SDS and SD members
Political tensions are rising in Slovenia following allegations of disinformation and internal party friction. The weekly Mladina reports that the SDS party, operating from the Prime Minister's cabinet, has allegedly led disinformation campaigns. According to the report, a public relations advisor in the Prime Minister's office encouraged members of closed chat groups to share discreditng content and partisan posts during recent election periods.
Separately, former Speaker of the National Assembly Milan Brglez has expressed significant distance from the Social Democrats (SD). Brglez criticized the actions of Kranj Mayor Matjaž Rakovc, an SD member, and questioned the integrity of the current Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the handling of a donation and an auction. Brglez stated that while he has not formally resigned from the SD, he has stopped paying membership fees due to these political developments.
