Slovenian road accidents: drunk driver crash and city bus collision

In recent days, Slovenian police have investigated several serious traffic incidents linked to impaired driving. A 23‑year‑old driver without a licence crashed a car over the Soča River near Deskle, registering 0.82 mg/L blood‑alcohol (1.7 ‰). The vehicle was destroyed and occupants suffered minor injuries. Separate incidents involved a 22‑year‑old Italian driver in Trieste, who recorded 1.02 mg/L (2.15 ‰) and collided with a tree, causing a fire, and a 25‑year‑old driver near Lucija with 0.81 mg/L (1.7 ‰) who lost control and struck a wall. All cases are being examined for dangerous‑driving offenses.

In Ljubljana, an LPP city bus collided with a personal car after the young driver entered the intersection on a yellow light. The bus sustained heavy damage and the driver was reported to be very shaken, though no injuries have been confirmed. Police continue to assess the circumstances of both the bus crash and the multiple alcohol‑related accidents.
