Smart returns to Argentina with new electric SUV lineup
Smart has returned to the Argentine market after a seven-year absence, represented by Prestige Auto. The brand, which is a 50/50 joint venture between Mercedes-Benz AG and Geely Group, is shifting its focus from small urban cars to a premium electric SUV lineup.
The initial offering includes the Smart #1 and the Smart #3. The #1 is a compact electric SUV available in Pure, Pro, Pro+, and Brabus versions. The #3 is a C-segment SUV coupé designed with a more sporty silhouette. Both models feature designs developed by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team.
Technical specifications for the models include electric powertrains ranging from 272 CV to 428 CV in the Brabus versions. Pricing in Argentina starts at $49,900 for the #1 Pure and reaches up to $75,900 for the #3 Brabus. Prestige Auto will provide national coverage for sales, technical support, and after-sales service.
